Lumecca provides a photofacial through the delivery of a comfortable light treatment. A broad spectrum of light passes through the skin and is absorbed by the blood and melanin which, in turn, trigger the body’s natural healing process to repair itself from the inside out.
Redness and a slight warming of the skin are normal after the treatment and usually subside within the hour. Over the next 24-48 hours, you will see your spots darken. You’ll probably realize there was even more sun damage and uneven pigmentation than you realized. This is a sign the treatment is working. In the week(s) afterward, the pigmented lesions flake off, leaving the skin with a more even tone and texture. After treating vascular lesions, you may see the vein blanch and disappear within two weeks.
Lumecca can be used on all areas of the body, but is most commonly used on areas exposed to the sun. It is especially effective on the face, neck, chest, hands, and arms.
