What is Menopause?

Once upon a time in the not-so-distant past, women suffered through “the change” in silence.  “It” was never discussed in polite circles, impolite circles, or even with the best of friends.  Women suffered alone and in silence.

Now, things are different….very different!  The last taboo is no more. Menopause is not only mentioned but actually discussed.  There is no better time to join the conversation than this October, aptly called Women’s Menopause Awareness Month and also Breast Cancer Awareness Month.Dr. Hilton from Southeast Sculpting and Rejuvenation

Menopause is a period of transition in a woman’s life. While it’s universal to all, the experience is unique for each.  Shifting hormones brings a variety of physical and emotional symptoms, including:

  • Hot flashes, night sweats, and disrupted sleep
  • “Brain fog”
  • Mood swings
  • Low energy, fatigue, stubborn weight gain, and muscle mass loss
  • Thinning hair: thinner ponytails, wider parts, excessive shedding
  • Hair where there wasn’t any before: stubborn, wiry chin hairs
  • Dry, itchy skin
  • Low libido
  • Dry, thinning vaginal tissues leading to painful intercourse
  • Overactive bladder, chronic UTIs, and incontinence from laxity

If you mentally checked even one of the issues cited above, know that we at Southeast Sculpting offer expert, personalized care designed to relieve your symptoms and restore balance.

How can we help? We have the experts!

Dr. Ansley Hilton, a Board-certified OB-GYN, combines her 30+ years of traditional gynecological experience with 10+ years of experience offering cutting-edge hormonal pellet therapy and energy-based treatments for vaginal health.  She oversees the Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy program (BHRT) and Women’s Pelvic Health programs.

NP Megan Wolff likewise treats hormone patients. She, too, believes that total body issues require total body care. She supplements her BHRT work, spearheading the Weight Loss program. Who better to lead this program than someone whose PhD dissertation expounded upon this very topic?

What answers do we offer?

  • Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT): We restore and maintain hormonal balance through ongoing personalized assessments and treatment.
  • Weight Loss programs:  We combat stubborn, hormonally driven weight gain with GLP1 therapy and diets designed to support hormones, healthy aging, bone density and mental clarity.
  • B12, MIC, and NAD wellness shots: Boost energy, metabolism, and offer additional support to BHRT therapy.
  • MonaLisa LaserTouch therapy:  Stimulates dry, thinning vaginal tissues to restore vaginal comfort and improve tone.
  • Morpheus8V:  This radiofrequency microneedling promotes vaginal tissue health and restores tone following difficult childbirth, pelvic floor prolapse,  laxity, and/or  disease.
  • Vtone:  Improves vaginal tone.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is also Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Women undergoing or recovering from treatment share many of the issues addressed during menopause.  In fact, cancer treatments often create these lasting issues by inducing a “chemical (related) menopause”.    Survivors experience the same hormonal shifts, fatigue, weight gain, and intimate health challenges.  They may also benefit from many of the same treatments. Allow our doctors to assess your needs and suggest appropriate means for restoring confidence, health, and vitality. Allow our estheticians to address cancer-related changes to your skin and scalp. They, too, can offer solutions for lasting results.

This October, we encourage women to :

  • Schedule your screenings.
  • Explore your options for care.  From BHRT to weight loss to intimate health, we are here to match treatments to your personal needs.
  • Invest in your well-being and make yourself a priority.

Call to schedule a consultation. In honor of women in menopause or recovery from disease, Dr. Hilton and NP Megan Wolff are offering all MLT MonaLisa LaserTouch consults for FREE and $ 25.00 off all BHRT consults through October.  Call 803-396-2727 to schedule yours.
